  • Being from the deep south, I often miss home cooking. This place is pretty darn close! I love sitting on their patio with a margarita and some homemade potato salad. This place has rustic charm, delicious food, a cute patio, and live music! Coming here feels like home.

  • Firehouse on the Run BBQ is the real deal! The brisket was absolutely phenomenal—tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The smoked chicken was incredible too—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Every side dish was spot-on and tasted homemade, which really adds to the whole experience. What really makes this place special is the hometown, family-friendly vibe. The staff couldn’t have been nicer—super welcoming, genuinely warm, and clearly proud of what they do. You can feel the love and passion in every plate they serve. Great food, great people, and great value. Firehouse on the Run BBQ is the kind of local gem that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend!

  • Great BBQ in the Middle of nowhere! We live in the area and stumbled upon this place after doing section 16. I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! I got a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. My husband got the Brisket, pulled pork, potato salad and brisket mac & cheese. Everything was great! We sat outside with our dog.

  • It's not always about the size of a place, or how new and pristine. But the heart and character. Now that matters. Returning to Colorado Springs, Colorado; a 40 year absence from my first experience in 1985, I was in awe of the growth of the Springs. But as I familiarized myself to the territory, I revisited the quaint community of Black Forest. With that, and hunger pains looming, I pulled into a small establishment. A small Barbecue place called Firehouse on the Run. The building doubles as a convenience store up front, and Barbecue in the back. Again, you wouldn't think, but without hesitation, I was about to experience something special. I ordered a beef brisket sandwich/w sweet BBQ sauce and a generous portion of potato salad. Seating is very limited on the inside, but there is a patio and picnic tables outside. When my food came, I didnt care where I was, as long as the food was where I was. The brisket was delicious, especially with the sauce, but what I was raving about more was the potato salad. Let me explain. I am from the South, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. If there was ever a food marriage made in heaven, on earth, it would be the creamy mustard based potato salad and WNC. In other words, I was right at home in the front range of the Colorado Rockies. The cool freshness and overall taste of the potato salad was one for the ages. I didn't know if the potato salad complimented the brisket, or was it the other way? But isnt that the way it supposed to work? One compliments the other? While there, I had a wonderful conversation with an employee that took care of me. I also met the owner. A young man with a humbleness about him. The interaction with the staff made my visit that much more special. Sure, many of the patrons to this place, grab and go. But due to my proximity and commute, I took in the scene with grace and thankfulness. But if you're in and around Colorado Springs, and you're hungry, I suggest you make you a run to Firehouse on the Run. And whatever type of cut you get, you gotta get the potato salad. This boy from the south knows what he's talking about.

  • Best pulled pork I've had around the Springs. Brisket Mac n cheese is out of this world, a perfectly spiced bloody Mary, and good music to let the booze set in. Folks are super friendly and food is quick, but you're gonna want to stay a minute and enjoy.

  • Awesome food here. Pulled pork is on point and doesn’t even need sauce!! Coleslaw is tangy and very delicious. Hubby had brisket and said it was really good as well! Will definitely be back!!

  • My wife and I stayed at an AirBnB about 5 miles away from Firehouse BBQ. We were looking for something close to keep us away from the Springs area. We were SURE glad that we found Firehouse BBQ in Black Forest. The food was fantastic, the service was amazing and setting was so cool! It’s located in an old gas station/convenience store. They also have live music & a dance floor on the patio area on weekends. Would highly recommend this place! We’re from Texas and have plenty of BBQ options, and this place is right up there with the best of them. We had brisket, ribs, jalapeño brisket mac n cheese & green beans. I wasn’t a fan of the green beans, but my wife loved them! Can’t wait to come back to the Springs area again to go visit Firehouse BBQ.
